How do I get my hair to grow past a certain point?

I've always kept my hair long but for the past 6 years it seems to have come to a stand still and will not grow past the middle of my back.....I trim it regularly but only about 1/2inch at a time. I'd like my hair to be longer but it seems to have "stopped growing"... or at least that's how it seems. I know it's growing some. The only thing I can think to contribute my delema to is that my hair is breaking at the ends preventing growth, but do you have any answers?

It sounds like your hair has breakage. It is growing but you don't see it because it's breaking off. I had the same problem. I started taking Prenatal vitamins and my hair and nails grew like crazy. Maybe you could try that.

Hair only grows about 1/2 inch a month, so I would only trim it every 2 to 3 months. I found that when I had very long hair it seemed to slow down in growing when it reached the middle of my back as well. Then I cut it off and donated it to Lock of Love. I've done that three times now. My hair is currently in a very short A-line and I love it.

Hair length is genetic. How fast your hair grows is also. If you take good care of your hair it shouldn't break to easy. As for cutting it if you do it once a month you are cutting off all the new growth. Hair only grows about a 1/2 inch per month. When I grew long hair I would get a trim only about 2-3 times a year. Just to trim of the split ends.
